The month of August is designated the George Town Festival (GTF), a celebration of Penang’s cultural heritage as well as play host to international cultural and art shows.

GTF showcases some of the best talents, arts, culture and heritage featuring local and international artists, performers, musicians and local communities.

This is the best time to immerse yourself with the local culture and art with a healthy does of Penang’s multicultural heritage through ticketed and free events.

The festival is in part a celebration of Penang’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.
